I hardly ever give my dolls real names, I want each doll to come into their name naturally, but this one just insisted, The Lilly this doll is named after is a wild and crazy cat with two bright blue crossed eyes who danced into my life years ago, spent countless hours on my lap covered with tiny little v's of fabric, peeked out from stuffing bags, and basically keeping my studio safe from any long term organization. She and I have migrated in opposite directions, I went west to CA and she traveled east to Ohio to do her delightful healing work on my folks.
The doll is18 inches tall and can be made with a flat front and a infinitely paintable face or a two-piece front sporting a nice pointy nose (slightly more advanced). I give basic directions on drawing a face in the pattern, touch on using my new favorite material, paperclay® for adding a 3-d face to the flat doll and talk alittle about bead eyeballs.
This versatile pattern could be a rodeo queen or ballerina, she could be the Goddess of Good Weather or the doyen of diversity! PLAY!
